Wasn't it supposed to be open by now?When propose and before the NEPA studies were begun, projected opening for the entire 23 mile 11 station branch was 2016. WMATA had never built and opened a single segment of that length in the past. The longest segment WMATA open at one time was the 12 mile 18 station National Airport to Stadium - Armory segment on 07 01 1977. It was broken up into 2 segments for budget and cost reasons.
