Subsidy is cold hard cash.Here's a better example. If I give you $500, that's a subsidy. If I lend you $500, and then immediately release you from your obligation to repay the loan, that's also a subsidy, even though I haven't given you a single penny in cold hard cash; I've merely "removed the leech" of loan repayments from your bottom line. |
