Yep..NIMBY's aren't a brick wall. They can be overcome. They cannot & should not stand in the way of progress.The first big NIMBY defeat I'm aware of was the BMT Jamaica Ave Line extention to 168 st. back in the 1910s . The locals screamed like hell, but the El was built anyway. Point being, if there's enough political fire in the belly ( & $$$), things get built, NIMBYs or not. |
