I rode pre-war IRT cars on (what's now) the #4 line. I'm not sure if they were all Lo-Vs, or if there was an occasional Hi-V in there. I know there was some variation in the car configuration. On a few occasions, I stood at the railfan window, but there was one time when the front of the lead car was different, with no real storm door, and the motorman said I couldn't stand there.
