One missed opportunity was when the West Side Hwy was rebuilt into the current boulevard. A light-rail could've been built alongside it, starting from from Columbus Circle west to 12th, then down along the river to Battery Park City. It could have been the NYC equivalent of San Francisco's F Embarcadero line. |
