A good example is this: When San Francisco's F-Line opened in March 2000, local riders who worked in the North Waterfront area, who had long suffered with bus lines that went to their workplaces, flocked to the F in droves. I can attest to that by operating both the F-Line and the various buses that served that area (32-Embarcadero, 42-Downtown Loop, 30-Stockton, and 15-Third) and most times, buses ran empty. But not the F streetcars! |
