That was pretty much the way the Flushing Line used to operate. All the trains would be signed up for Main St but often the train that was supposed to go through went O/S at 111 St and the following train which was the layup would go through to Main St. One morning I was working the Flushing console in the command center and the M/M called in that he had a cracked side door glass in his operating car. I notified the ATD at 111 St who replied “OK command center, we’’ll make that a scheduled layup” even though the train was a Main St train. |
