During my time on the IRT, Dyckman trains were either put ins or layups but never short turns as they were at 137 St. As for fumigation, the need for redundant T/Os can be eliminated by having a couple of platform C/Rs at stations that require fumigation to assist the road C/R in getting all the pax off the train. The plat C/Rs could also observe the trains as they enter the relay position in case any pax do manage to sneak back on and alert the on board crews via radio. |
