Also, where is the ridership coming from. I don’t recall seeing any major building taking place along that corridor since the time when 8 car trains of 60 footers operated there so I don’t understand why 600 ft trains with a decreased headway couldn’t handle the loads.Increasingly, people who live in Astoria are Midtown white collar office workers. So the same population is accompanied by a rise in subway usage. |
