In 1960, when I was in George Westinghouse H.S. on Tillary St a black friend of mine told me that his family had to move out of one of the housing projects because the building was unsafe the elevator floors were so badly corroded from all the urine they were afraid a passenger would fall through and vandals were dismantling the piping system for money to the junk yards the project closed and was leveled.
