That would indeed be best. But a system that's dependent on all humans to do the right thing all the time will produce results like we just saw here. So I say, the first step is to improve the existing crossings, such as with more prominent warning lights and coordinated with nearby traffic signals.Lone term, these crossings need to be eliminated. Will it be possible to do them all in my lifetime? Probably not. But identify some as priorities, and start there. |
