Where does it state that she did not proceed through the flashing lights.It's an inference from everything that has been said. The most likely explanation is that there was a line of cars waiting at the Taconic traffic light. She followed the car in front of her and came to a stop with the rear of her car under the raised gate (which of course is grossly unsafe and illegal). Then while she was stopped the train approached and the gate came down on her car. |
