Pure speculation here...the point I'm trying to make is if the 3d rail was welded instead of bolted, it would not have one of the joints fail permitting the rail to seperate & morph into a bayonet since the joint would'nt be there in the first place. Being continous, it might have just bowed or wrapped around the wreckage like running rail does in accidents, in stead of penetrating it. |
