Think about it. Considering the plenitude of "news" sources available in this age of internets...there is really not that great a difference between any provider. On the contrary— there's a wide range of different outlets. Fox offers nothing but extremist propaganda; CNN strives for "balance" between truth and lies, MSNBC offers occasional news with right-wing propaganda mixed in, while some sites (like Crooks & Liars, Firedoglake, maybe Raw Story) offer actual news with no bias at all. I've posted this before... Here's a quick guide to the media in the US. A bunch of senators get together for a Capitol Hill baseball game, with teams divided by party lines (ie, the Democrats play ball against the Republicans). The Democrats win the game 20-0. After the game: The conservative Fox News will report that the Republicans won 20-0. The centrist CNN will report that the game was tied 10-10. The liberal MSNBC will report that the Democrats won 20-19. Seems slightly elitist to put down fox. "Elitist?" |
