The Rockaway special was a premium fare train that ran one trip to Playland station on weekends from 42/8 lower much like the Aqueduct specials and the fare included some sort of admission to the Playland amusement park. If I recall, it only ran for the summer of1958 using a train of the R-16s that were still on the iND at the time. I rode it once but I don't recall if it stopped at Hoyt or not but other than that it was non stop.
