Judging from where evacuees are emerging, I'd guess it was either a rail condition on D3 track, or a problem on one or more of the cars. I doubt it has anything to do with the curve. If it were, people would have been evacuated closer to the Northern Boulevard station.

I don't recall any work having been done on the tracks that would require significant speed reduction.

I last rode that section of the system on Monday, and I didn't notice anything unusual.

Trains usually zip through that area anyway. The fastest train I've taken through there hit the curve at about 46 mph, though most usually don't go past 42.
