Good experienced people, an unusually high number, are retiring from mta agencies since they are coming of age and are tired of waiting for new contracts. The longer this goes on, the less of a chance for retro pay.New people are coming in and are getting well trained but so much stuff is learned when you are put there on your own because, as is the nature of the railroad business, some things happen so infrequently you can't possibly be trained for every eventuality. There is no substitute for experience. |
