While I recognize that Mr. Rockefeller is a trusted colleague of yours, I find your request that people should pipe down to be a bit unrealistic.Fact is, the man screwed up. Why he screwed up may still be open to discussion. Whether or not his screw-up was criminal may or may not be the subject of a jury trial someday -- but his own union rep and his own lawyer decided to violate NTSB confidentiality by disclosing that he was effectively asleep at the throttle. The only logical reason for the union rep and attorney to do this is to build public sympathy for him in order to minimize or eliminate possible criminal charges. Once you intentionally violate confidentiality and non-disclosure you can't expect the rest of the world to put the cat back in the bag for you. |
