Remember, the Eastern Division platforms used to hand eight 67-foot cars in rush hours as has been well documented here. As it is, most of the Eastern Division platforms if you get the settings just right can actually handle nine cars because of this.

That is WHY I would go for the 67-foot length for ALL new "B Division" car orders from now on. This might also spur lengthening ALL non-eastern division platforms to 670 feet over time to allow for 10 67-foot cars. Although that doesn't seem like much, 70 extra feet per train (essentially just short of one additional 75-foot car) on the Queens Boulevard line would make a big difference in reducing overcrowding on that line that is well documented. That to me is the best compromise.
