This was brought to my attention earlier today. Perhaps you saw this?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R44_(New_York_City_Subway_car) "Cars (5286–5289) still remain as of September 2013 and are probably going to be scrapped. Car 5240-5241, however have been set aside from scrapping and are held for the New York Transit Museum." Given it's Wikipedia, that info probably shouldn't be trusted unless someone in the know can confirm this. Who writes these things anyway? As far as I know, all the R44s, minus 5240 and the 63 SIR units, are gone. |
