October 20, 1988 CC/Pitkin was using about 4 to 5 GE R10 sets left IIRC because they were retired completely the next month. They were being retired when I entered school car but the Green R10s were running after so I got some handle time on them. I worked them both as conductor and T/O. Right before the asbestos disaster and the Willy B closures they were using GEs for shop transfers, yard horses at 207 while the Green Machines found their way into A service and fortunately for me into the newer 145 service. Although 5 trips to WTC was somewhat grueling, I'd have a much better day in green than running "in the red". I liked them a lot for the short time I got to play with them. Especially the air doors.
