Trucks have about an 8' wheelbase. I suspect all moveable components are rusted still.

They did install storm windows. Carbody is in pretty good shape for its age.

Notice the end doors are rather flush with the end of the car. the 1200-1600 series MU cars, and 300-400, 600 and 700 series combines in the steam fleet, all built 1908-1917 had just 5" collision posts and telescoped rather easily. The arch roof cars and the Altoona-built 1100's of 1930 had 12" and held up much better in wrecks.

This is the sole survivor of a non-1100 series clerestory roof car. No steam car exists. The 385 had been in Webster NY, and was scrapped about 10 years ago as it had started falling apart. These cars also have a weakness by the top of the sides disconnecting from the roof and cave in as they get to be 80+ years old. The PRR and ACF of Berwick, PA didn't engineer them to last for eternity.
