I'm glad that you mentioned Pitkin because in all the time I was out there as a trainmaster I never thought to check Pitkin's board even though I knew about Euclid. There was also a portion of a Lexington Av subway in Manhattan that was built from about 26 St to 38 St or thereabouts for possible BMT use that was filled in when it became definite that the IRT would get the upper portion of Lex but nobody seems to start any flame wars over that. I have often suspected and have mentioned it in several posts that the reason that there is more mystery surrounding 76 St station than the Kennedy assaination has to do with the corruption in the city government at the time that portion of the subway was built and that there may be some aspect of that construction that the politicians of the day wanted to keep hidden and it still being perpetuated to this day.
