Sorry, but besides the two Cincinnati cars 4271-4272, the CTA has NO Historic Fleet. By "the pair of green 2000s", I think you mean 1892-1992 stored outside at Skokie, those two cars were sold by the CTA in the PCC car scrap sale of 1997-1998. The CTA also disposed of 6719 and 6720 in that same sale. IRM won the two cars in auction for $700 apiece, but at the time said they only were interested in them for parts....the two cars have been altered far from their original appearance and were of no use for a museum. IRM deferred the sale however in favor of a state of Illinois sponsored effort to establish a park and museum in the Pullman area on the south side of Chicago. The park never happened and in 2013, 16 years later, IRM took possession. Meanwhile the cars sat all that time. What is IRM's purpose with the cars today, I don't know.DH |
