I was a fan of the 4000s, although I never rode on them in Chicago - only at IRM. The only line I ever saw them on was the Evanston Express, which is why I associate the 4000s with the route. I remember asking my aunt once if we could ride on that train and she replied, "It doesn't stop anywhere." Well, back then it ran nonstop from Howard all the way to Merchandise Mart. |
