Take an R40 pair and an R40M pair, split them up and marry them to each other. That way you can remove the pantograph gates and still have a train. It would make a great fantrip train (a bullet train, essentially) until the next car class has to be made room for, at which time one of the two pairs would be scrapped. The other would be retained. |
