On the Hagstrom maps, the IND was in red, the IRT was in blue and the BMT was in yellow. These were the same colors displayed in the cars themselves. What is interesting is that although until the creation of the NYCTA in 1953, the Dyre Av Line was jurisdictionally part of the iND and used IRT crews despite using IRT rolling stock, the Hagstrom maps showed it in IRT blue on all its maps from the time of the city takeover. |
