When circumstances permitted, I went to 69th Street Terminal (arriving just before 2 PM for the 11 to 3 charter) expecting to take the first trolley to Drexel Hill Junction to look for the charter and photograph it. Fortunately, I ran into Vinnie Jakubowski in the Terminal. He told me that there were several no-shows so seats were available and that the charter was at the Terminal and was leaving in five minutes. I asked Bill Monaghan how much a very late walk-on should pay, and he said to get on and talk to him later. So I rode the charter for the last hour and a half, since it ended after 3:30. |
