Contrary to the "contrary to popular belief" saying that rats (don't know about other rodents) don't like cheese, they do, though plain cheese is not a favorite.A researcher with extensive behavioral experience with rats ran a controlled experiment (apparently to satisfy his own curiosity) in which he decided that a rat's favorite foods are scrambled eggs, mac and cheese and cob corn. I've duplicated this finding with my daughter's pet rats, except I'd reverse that order: rats will run and beg for corn every single day. Simple rule of thumb: rats have very similar physical makeup to humans, which is why they are such popular test animals. If a human likes to eat it, so does a rat. |
