PVC has been widely used in electrical insulation on wires and other similar purposes. Problem with PVC is that it isn't a very stable compound and in a few short years, the "plasticizer" agent outgases causing it to dry out and shrink with resulting microcracks, then bigger cracks as it dries out. Then it begins absorbing moisture.PVC isn't such a great "plastic" for the purpose when it ages. |
