There is just no demand to do anything like that. Anyway, the 3 turns west north of 145th, so having it turn east again and go to the Bronx would be a pretty twisty route.If any construction is to be done on the 3 north of the split with the 2, extend the platforms at 145th St. to accommodate 10-car trains. There should be room between the current south end of the station and the junction with the 2 at 142nd St. And maybe build a passenger crossunder at 135th St. |
