Like this is revolutionary. Sibways such as in Paris and London, both older than many of the lettered lines, have had these for decades. Only in the mentality of NYCT which uses fare cards with decades old technology would entering the late 20th century let along the 21st century be the slightest question. Of course they are necessary and part of what any normal subway system shold have today and it is a reflection of the disregard for passengers exhibited throughout NYCT that they haven't been up and working for decades here either.
