I used to ride the J from Sutphin Boulevard to Fulton Street because it was a one seat ride from the courthouses in Jamaica to where I then worked in lower Manhattan. This was in the early '90s and the stretches of the el over Broadway between Crescent Street and Marcy Avenue were scenes out of a post-apocalyptic movie.Thankfully all that is - largely - behind us. |
