True, it's just some areas (most notably where the CBE went through) fared much worse than others. Moses simply didn't care that what he did virtually completely wrecked the South Bronx to where by the late 1970s we had Howard CosellAnd again, many factors led to the fall of the South Bronx. Bushwick, East New York, Brownsville, and neighborhoods all around the city fell just as hard as the South Bronx, and none of those had an "expressway" built through. Similarly, many areas DID have an expressway cut through like Maspeth, Whitestone, Fresh Meadows, and many other areas, and didn't even hint of falling, and remained strong. |
