Putting keeping the island platforms and adding an extra track would probably not work, especially having to operate trains through the area during construction.I have a better suggestion: re-activate the old CNJ between Cranford and the CCL junction to provide freights with an alternative route around the section of track shared with NJT and favor the passenger trains during weekday peak times. |
