As we have seen on the LIRR, these "token" (your term) or political (my term) dual mode trains have completely failed at wooing anyone back from the Ronkonkoma or Port Washington branches. They have caused intrA-branch ridership diversions from train to train, but that is all.Just take a look at the half empty commuter parking lot in places like Greenlawn, Northport, Smithtown, etc. |
