Not Necessary. Use the middle track geo east of Queens Plaza to turn around.

You could also:
Pitkin Yards -> Canarsie Line and Broadway BMT through Montague St Tunnel -> X over at Lawrence St or Pacific St and change ends -> head north to Queensboro Plaza.

Lexington Ave-63rd St is under construction so routes involving change ends there are out of the question.
