Although it may have been built to "subway" standards, it would not have been built to full dual contract dimensions since it was specifically intended to be connected only to the existing IRT lines unlike some of the other IRT els which were built to full dual contract BRT/BMT dimensions in anticipation of possible BRT operation of those routes. |
