They have taken this McGinnis-era thing too far. It would be like LIRR splashing orange all over the place.

... Definitely not. Red and tan is a color scheme considered classy, that would not be out of place in a parlor car. Contrast that with the tackiness of the C3 and M7 seats (pic credit goes to whoever posted this thread here):




It is very pleasing that rather than go with a bland grey box design or a color scheme contrived by an overpaid consultant, they actually use something that is relevant to the area the trains are actually used. It gives them... identity.
