I don't know the starting date, but it first allowed Bay Ridge el train to get to 101st Street on the surface. Later bumper blocks were installed and it became a "down-the-platform" transfer for trolley riders to the el and v.v.It stopped being used in 1919 with the BRT bankruptcy but remained in place until the el was demolished after 1940. |
