It wasnt that,so to speak.They were opening another so called "flagship store" [Queens Center mall]..and want THAT to be THE SHOPPERS DESTINATION..they figured if They left..it would cause the downfall of the whole shopping strip. In a way, it did. But instead of driving out business..it brought on the Bargain Basement ..mini malls.. hip hop based... electronics..and whatever else was tossed in the mix. Today..the area is as crowded as Fulton st mall if not more so..almost to the point where I hate shopping there. |
