Things to note: 1) The crossovers immediately east of 76th Street are very puzzling. All they do is allow a train to skip 76th or 84th, but not the other — i.e. they're almost totally superfluous. 2) Cross Bay Blvd is a very neat design. It would allow end-on terminating of full-length Fulton St Locals and short Rockaway Shuttles, but also through operation of the Local and the Rockaway Branch, with the Express eventually continuing on to 229/Linden. |
