The politicians will be screaming. A sort of NIMBYism. "Put them somewhere else but not on my line."The best place for them would be on line 5. Of course, the number of cars needed could be adjusted, if some cars are left over no problem on putting them on another line. But since E.180th is the barn for the 5 line and the newest in the IRT and a showcase barn, I would think NYCT politics would dictate R142's to say on the 5. No rush, it will be several years and more than one NYCT administration down the road who will have to deal with who gets the current Corona fleet. A currently unknown group of passengers will be pissed then. |
