A claustraphobic nightmare during rush hour.- 86th & 79th/Broadway, so much of the original tilework is gone, even in the original 1904 portions of the platforms. They feature the last remnants of those ugly beige/pink tiles that have been steadily stripped off the West Side IRT in the last 15-20 years of renovations. - 137th/CC, not just because of its bland renovation, but because it has hidden away and/or destroyed some of the most unique station panels in all of the IRT. At least they preserved two of them. - 68th/Hunter College, the platforms look like absolute crap (some missing tile sections are actually painted over), but at least it's got a direct entrance to the college which is pretty neat and convenient for a student like me. :) |
