But the reason all the platforms are high level in LIRR land is because of the C3's. Many stations would not have been closed or modified had an NJT-style bilevel been adopted. Stations like Mattituck, Southold, Glen Street and Bellport could have been left as is, and stations like Quogue and Center Moriches could still be open. |
