They wanted to essentially duplicate what they had, only with more modern amenities. With Citifield, the Wilpons wanted to go retro, like all the other ballparks since Camden Yards. Jacobs Field in Cleveland was the last stadium before the 'retropark' renaissance, and the new Yankee Stadium is an exception to the rule. |
