True, but at the time the R-16s were delivered, the only other cars with that type of door control panel were the R-15s. Also, the R-15s and 16s had door equipment supplied by National Pneumatic, even though the doors were all electric whereas the R-17s through 22s had door equipment supplied by Consolidated Car Heating and while the operation was identical, the shape of the two manufacturers' handles was slightly different. |
