The R-32s were associated with your train for many years. In fact, I still associate them with the Norton (that's what I call the N). My very first subway ride was on a Sea Beach Express of shiny new R-32s on July 21, 1965. Truth be told, I don't actually remember seeing an N marking, but I do remember the green backlit "57th St." side signs, which confirmed it was an N. Back then, the West End Express or the the T, ran to Astoria on weekdays when it operated.
