I've finally gotten around to "processing" the pictures I took in Memphis last year.I spent only part of a day there, because I was suffering from sunburn from spending a day walking around Little Rock, which also aggravated my left foot which had been bothering me since Phoenix and Tucson (and caused me to skip Southern California on this trip). So I rested in my motel for part of the day and didn't drive into Memphis until mid-afternoon. I explored both the Mud Island Monorail and the Main Street Trolley. Here's the monorail, proceeding between the terminals at the convention center and on Mud Island. This is a cable-hauled suspension monorail, sort of a hybrid between the Pittsburgh/Johnstown inclines and the Wuppertal Schwebebahn.          |
