Pretty much any place which supplies equipment for surveyors. Maybe Uncle Fred can suggest a few places. The equipment consists of radio equipment on a sled along with a laptop on which the display shows what's down there. You need to calibrate it, set the desired depth settings and how the display shows what you're looking for. You want someone who knows how to use the equipment since if something's found people will be bitching about the accuracy to the inch anyway. :)Perhaps someone already in the business can be pursuaded to volunteer a weekend in exchange for an eclectic writeup in Gothamite or NY Times. A story like this is something that could easily be pitched to a newspaper editor with a sideangle of "them zany subway buffs and their conspiracies." If there really IS a will, this can be done. |
